Let's consider you have 1 subject(can be any number of subjects) back for 2nd Sem(it can be any sem) . Then you should enter '0' while calculating SGPA for that subject in that SEM.
Then, we know you are a strong champ and you cleared it in next sem and got 80 marks(IA+EXT). Then enter the new marks while calculating the SGPA.

VTU will consider the passed subject marks for calculating SGPA for that sem.
Just so you know, they will mention the number of attempts on that subject in the SEM markscard.
